I started this blog in 2012 to track what I was learning while I was teaching myself how to program an Arduino and play around with a 4x4x4 LED cube. That led me to 3D printing and Repraps, then I got distracted by FPV and racing quadcopters. So while my interests are all over the place they will generally be focused on 3D printing, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Emulation, LiDar, 3D photogrammetry, photography, quadcopters and IT.

Sick Day... LED sorting
I was pretty sick today, with some kind of stomach bug. I slept a lot, but while I was awake I read a few guides about 3x3x3 LED cubes using an Arduino UNO and sorted out some LED's from a grab bag of 500 I got on the cheap from Jameco. I was able to find a few types of LED's that had almost 40 of the same type. I've got a bunch or red frosted LED's that should work, plus I have a few extra in case I burn up a few during soldering. As these LED cubes look a bit more complicated then anything I've soldered before.
